A Wait List will begin at 7:30pm (one hour prior to show time) at Baryshnikov Arts Center on the day of performance. First come, first served. BAC staff will announce seat availability at 8:30pm.

The Baryshnikov Dance Foundation presents Made in CataluNYa, Catalan Culture in New York, a festival organized by the Barcelona-based Institut Ramon Llull and featuring some of today's most innovative and celebrated Catalan artists in dance, theater, music and poetry.

Sol Picó
Kiss me the cactus

One of Catalonia's most celebrated contemporary choreographers, Sol Picó performs her award winning piece, which stages powerful images of fear in a dynamic and humorous way.

Agustí Fernández
Extended Piano

Considered a pioneer in the field of free jazz improvisation, Agustí Fernández performs one of his signature works which fuses contemporary classical piano with jazz to create a unique and powerful style.

Poetic Bodies

Conceived, directed, and performed by Pep Tosar, one of Majorca's leading stage artists, Part One is a theatrical work based on the life and work of Blai Bonet, a major Mallorcan poet and novelist. In Part Two, Raravis, one of Catalonia's most exciting dance companies, presents a new piece inspired by the work of poets Feliu Formosa and Eduard Escoffet.

Estramp Jaç

Prominent in the field of improvisation as well as fusion music, the six members of Estramp Jaç perform a new work merging jazz with traditional Catalan and Mediterranean music.

Gelabert-Azzopardi Dance Company

The recipient of the Critic's Award at Edinburgh's International Festival, Gelabert- in collaboration with renowned video artist Charles Atlas- establishes a constant dialogue with a video monitor that mirrors the interior images and feelings of the dancer.

Made in CataluNYa, Catalan Culture in New York is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, Barcelona and Modernity: Gaudí to Dalí at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (March 7- June 3) and will also feature a concert of Catalan music by one of the world's foremost choral ensembles, Voices of Ascension (Church of the Ascension on March 22) as well as four chamber and world music concerts at The Metropolitan Museum (April 1, May 4, 9 & 10).
